ICA-CAM 2018 Session Line-Up

2 April 2018

In early March, ICA released the program for its annual meeting in Prague. At CAM, we are very much looking forward to thoughtful and rigorous conversations across a range of topics – running from topics associated with the conference theme (“Voice”) to CAM classics (e.g., sexy media and t(w)eens; parental mediation)  to topics that are beginning to make waves in the CAM space (e.g. raising civically minded youth).  To help you plan your Prague days, below you can find a listing of the CAM sessions. Be sure to check the online program for the most up-to-date information. And, of course, please do plan to attend the CAM business meeting on Sunday evening  – everyone is welcome to attend!

Also, in addition to these CAM panels, there is a sponsored session entitled “Screen Time and the Lives of Children” on Monday at 17:00 that will likely be of interest to many of our CAM members.

Happy planning!

#ICA18 – Results, Registration, & Housing

21 January 2018

Prague City Street

It has been a busy January for ICA! Results were announced on 17 January.  Submitters can check  All Academic for results and reviews. This was an incredibly competitive year, and while this means that some very good work was unfortunately not programmed, this also means that CAM’s sessions are incredibly rich – diverse in topic, method, and representation. More information about the schedule will be released in early March. Looking forward to seeing so many of you in beautiful Prague!

Registration is now possible (early bird rate!) on ICA’s main website. Register early to qualify for the early bird rate. You can find the registration information here.

Along with registration, housing is now open for ICA. The housing process is always a bit complex as ICA must work continuously with hotels to release rooms. This means that some individuals may be wait-listed or may need to check back for a room. ICA is working hard to make sure that your housing needs are met, so please be patient. Questions about the process? ICA sent this helpful email which describes the process and answers your FAQs.

This preconference is also being supported by ECREA (TWG Children Youth and Media & Section Mediatization), providing an excellent opportunity for ICA-CAM scholars to  meet and share research with a broader network of scholars.

For more information, included the CfP and submission procedures, visit the preconference website.
